UFC Fight Night 168 Preview, Prediction And Pick: Paul Felder Vs. Dan Hooker

02/21/2020

The UFC heads to Auckland, New Zealand for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 168 event. In the main event, Dan Hooker, who hails from Auckland, faces Philadelphia’s Paul Felder in an important lightweight scrap.

Although Felder and Hooker are high in the 155-pound rankings — Felder comes in at No. 6 and Hooker is one spot behind him — don’t expect to see the winner of this bout earn a title shot. Khabib Nurmagomedov defends his lightweight crown against Tony Ferguson at April’s UFC 249 and it is believed the UFC plans to book Conor McGregor against the winner of that contest. At best, the victor of Saturday’s bout will earn a title eliminator the next time he steps into the octagon.

Felder is 5-2 in his past seven outings. He is on a two-fight winning streak. Hooker, who is a former featherweight, is 6-1 since he moved up to lightweight. He has also won his two most recent bouts.
