ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - The Swiss Federal Banking Commission (EBK) has confirmed the Swiss takeover commission's (UEK) decision that former Converium Holding AG shareholder Martin Ebner acted as a team with French reinsurer Scor SA in its takeover of Converium, according to an article in Swiss bi-weekly Finanz und Wirtschaft on Saturday.
The management of Converium Holding AG supports a tie-up with Scor SA which earlier this month made an unsolicited takeover offer worth 21.1 sfr per Converium share which had been rejected as too low by the group's board, a newspaper reported, citing Scor majority shareholder Martin Ebner.
The Financier Martin Ebner is largest single shareholder with Converium. Ebners holding company Patinex holds newly 12.49 per cent of the being correct rights of the Rückversicherers. A first attack Ebners on Converium had failed this spring.
